Cloudscape Brazil 2015 – The Cloud at your Service: A workshop on How Business and Research are innovating in the Cloud

The cloud shines bright with silver lining – The cloud has gone from a misty concept to a solid platform essential for growth and stability, lowering market entry for new companies and enabling pioneering research in Brazil and Europe.

Cloudscape Brazil 2015 takes place on 1 December in Rio de Janeiro to showcase an impressive array of cloud user stories from cutting-edge research in the life sciences to newcomers competing with established players.

A strong focus is on how international co-operation is crucial to addressing common societal challenges with cloud federation as a key enabler. Cloudscape Brazil will show examples from Europe, Brazil and other world regions, highlighting the importance of open standards. “EU-Brazil co-operation is strengthening a user centric, cross-Atlantic test bench for European and Brazilian research communities”, said Paulo Pagliusi, VP of the Cloud Security Alliance Brazil and CEO of MPSafe CyberSecurity Awareness, Brazil.

The number of start-ups in Brazil and Europe is growing rapidly year on year. The cloud is playing a big role in this escalation mainly because of its ability to level the playing field. The cloud removes much of the initial up-front costs, making it easier for small firms to compete with larger rivals and even surpass them. Cloudscape Brazil 2015 offers a forum for start-ups to show how they are innovating in the marketplace. Interactive discussions will also help pinpoint new opportunities for taking the very best research results to market.

With the Cloudscape Brazil series launched almost one year ago, this 1-day workshop will give public and private organisations essential and unique insights into what cloud services mean for them today. “Cloudscape Brazil 2014 event was amazing to understand about cloud technology from different perspectives such as medical research, SMEs, start-up incubators, natural resources research and others. The experiences shared by each of this sectors were very useful and interesting”, said Fernando Ponciano, Business Manager at VTX Brasil. This is just one example of how the highly successful Cloudscape series in Europe, which started back in 2009, is helping to make Cloudscape Brazil such a premier event in Latin America.
