Newcastle EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training - recruiting for intensive course in the Cloud Computing sector

The Newcastle University Central Doctoral Training is recruiting students from both Computing Science and Mathematics/Statistics backgrounds and providing an intensive course of interdisciplinary training during Year 1 of the four year PhD programme in the Cloud Computing sector.

This initiative will build the next generation of experts in the analysis of "big data" using advanced statistical methodologies and the latest cloud computing technologies, addressing an acute worldwide skills shortage.

This is fully-funded four-year training for up to 12 UK or EU students but additional non-funded places are also available.

All students associated with the CDT are located together in brand new purpose-built accomodation within the Core building in Newcastle's new Science Central district. This building provides state-of-the-art training and Cloud Computing Facilities in an environment which mixes academics, researchers and industry technologists.

The deadline for the first round of applications, for entry in September 2015, is January 31st 2015.
