University of Valencia: Online Course Cloud Computing with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

The Institute of Instrumentation for Molecular Imaging (I3M) of Universitat Politècnica de València is organizing a 30 hours Online Course in Cloud Computing with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Profile needed:

Focused to CIOs with a technical background, system administrators and application developers. Despite opened to anyone, you can get the most potential of the course if you have basic computer background and skills on command-line in GNU / Linux environment (for the practical part). Otherwise, you have the self-guided practices to help you manage AWS services. Do not need to know any programming language.

Description of the position

This online course addresses the different deployment models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and *aaS) and key technologies involved are covered in the emergence of Cloud Computing. The course addresses main advantages, existing challenges and difficulties as well as different forms of Cloud (Private Cloud or on-premise, public cloud and hybrid cloud). Special emphasis on public cloud, which is made to allow the outsourcing organizations (from) the computation and storage to a supplier on a Cloud pay per use model that transforms the investment costs for hardware infrastructure costs operation, paying only for the resources consumed, which can also be increased or elastically decremented.
