EUBrazilCC at the Interoperability Demo Days and Cloud Plugfest co-organised by CloudWATCH

The CloudWATCH consortium is organising an Interoperability Demo Day at the Utility and Cloud Conference (UCC 2014), Hilton Paddington, London, UK. The event is co-organised with the Cloud Interoperability Council. Fogbow and COMPSs will be presented and tested there by EUBrazilCC team.

On Friday 12th December EUBrazil Cloud Connect team will present a live demo on COMPSs Programming Framework running on EGI and ond Fogbow, middleware for on-demand usage of resources developed within EUBrazil Cloud Connect eInfrastructure framework.

LatinCloud 2014

EUBrazil Cloud Connect fogbow middleware to be presented at at the Cloud Tools Lab that is part of IEEE LatinCloud 2014 event, 24-25 November, Rio de Janeiro

EUBrazil Cloud Connect will play a role at the Cloud Tools Lab that is part of IEEE LatinCloud 2014 event. The paper "Using Fogbow to federate private clouds. November 2014" has been accepted and selected for presentation within the Cloud Tools Lab. It presents the Fogbow middleware developed within EUBrazil Cloud Connect context.

The "Cloud Plugfests" is an international co-operative community series designed to promote interoperability efforts on cloud-based software, frameworks, and standards among vendors, products, projects and implementations.TheCloud Plugfest will see Brazilian participation for the very first time. EUBrazil Cloud Connect will test the OCCI implementation of fogbow, middleware that has been developed by the Federal University of Campina Grande.

Sustained progress in computational hardware and software technologies, ranging from hybrid CPU/GPU systems, multicore architectures, increased density, and virtualization, to relatively new paradigms such as commercial cloud computing, have brought the tools and techniques of High Performance Computing (HPC) into broad acceptance in wide areas of research and industry. At the same time, the extremely fast pace of the field introduces new challenges in technological, intellectual, and even political areas which must be addressed to continue to enable wider acceptance, implementation, and ultimately societal impact of high performance computing technologies and paradigms.

BRESCI - The VIII Brazilian e-Science Workshop, will take place on 30 and 31 July in Brasilia during the XXXIV CSBC - Congress of the Computer Science Society, which is the major conference in Computer Science in Brazil. The workshop will discuss specific track sessions to discuss applications in key areas of e-Science, including bioinformatics, astronomy and chemistry.
