Ignacio Blanquer

Ignacio Blanquer, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Systems at the Technical University of Valencia since 1999, is currently leading the Grid and High Performance Computing (GRyCAP) research group. He has obtained his phd. in 2003 on high performance computing in medical imaging, for which he got a extraordinary phd. prize. Its activity is focused on biomedical informatics and Parallel Computing, participating in 55 European, national and regional research projects. Ignacio Blanquer is author and co-author of 32 publications in indexed journals and book chapters and over 82 communications conference proceedings.

He is currently the coordinator of EUBrazilCloudConnect project, funded by the European Commission and the Brazilian CNPq. He is also the co-project coordinator of the Ministry entitled "Virtual elastic clusters on Hybrid Cloud Infrastructures - TIN2013-44390-R"

Ignacio Blanquer has been coordinator of the implementation of the Spanish Network for e-Science, including participation in the board of the National Grid initiative and he was responsible for applications in the European project VENUS-C where coordinated adaptation 27 applications in an environment of cloud computing.
