Roberto Cascella

Innovation and Research Project Manager, Trust-IT Services

Roberto Cascella obtained his Ph.D. (2007) in ICT from the University of Trento working on trust and reputation mechanisms for autonomic systems, the M.Sc. in telecommunication engineering from Politecnico di Torino (Italy) and from KTH (Sweden) in 2003, in the framework of a double degree exchange program. A research scientist at University of Trento till 2009, in 2009 he joined Inria, first as postdoc at Inria Sophia Antipolis working on statistical approaches for Internet traffic classification and then, from 2011, as research engineer at Inria Rennes.

There, until 2014, he was the technical manager of the FP7 Contrail project contributing to the architecture design of Contrail system aiming at federating heterogeneous clouds and of the VEP middleware developed by the Inria team, and then technical manager of the EIT ICT Labs VEP-S activity.

His interests are in the area of cloud computing, Internet measurements, trust and reputation management, and security for autonomic systems. In January 2015 he joined Trust-IT Services where he is Innovation and Research Project Manager where he is currently involved in the EU-Brazil Cloud Connect project and other EC funded projects.
